Anarchivism

Anarchivism is an ad-hoc group of volunteer archivists who are primarily aimed at saving and preserving both digital and analog media when current methods of preservation seem lacking. Officially started in 2012 as a way to pool together projects by several individuals, the group has become a centralized haven for capturing and sharing little-known or forgotten media. This does not simply include copying files from a website, but hunting down missing entries and filling holes to create as complete a collection as possible. New projects are brought in by personal interest or request, and will go on as long as they need to. No project is too big or too small.

Ripped from VHS. Tthe first effort by director and co-producer Jan Nickman which served as a demonstration of computer animation when the art-form was still in its relative infancy. Computer animator Michael Boydstun (of the four MIND'S EYE movies) presents a mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic flight of fancy inside a television set that beams out hallucinatory visions. This surreal and witty science-fiction/fantasy film serves as a good-natured critique of television and its effect on the mind. The musical score by Paul Speer and Queensryche's Scott Rockenfield provides a wonderfully gothic background.
